What Happens to an Inground Trampoline When It Rains in the UAE?
Since 2023, AkrobatUAE have installed over 50 inground trampolines throughout the UAE and wider GCC. From desert farms to Palm villas, family gardens to urban communities. Round or rectangular; large or compact gardens.... chances are, we've installed it [see gallery]
And despite living in the desert, one of the most common questions we get asked it:
"What happen when it rains?"
It might be surprising to some people but the UAE actually has a high water table. Any resident will tell you that rain water can collect in the strangest of areas, this is why when installing an inground trampoline its not just about the trampoline itself — it’s about what happens underneath it.
In order to avoid the damage that can occur from water pooling (however rare in the UAE), you must install in-line with regional conditions. This should include:
-
Ground conditions assessment
-
Substructure / Foundation Wall
-
Soak away
-
Gravel if required.
Why It Matters
During the April 2024 storms, one client in The Lakes told us:
The rains flooded our entire neighbourhood and our garden. Had it not been for the water being able to run off into the basin of the trampoline the water would have come over the doorstep and flooded our house.

Another Important Point: Mosquitos
Unfortunately, it is all too well known that stagnant water = mosquitos. Correct drainage helps keep your trampoline clean, dry, and pest-free.
The Easy Option? Leave It to Us.
From developer permits and excavation to drainage works and final assembly, we manage the full process. So when the rare UAE rain does arrive, you can relax — and let the kids enjoy the sunshine when it returns.
